Rhythm NewMedia is the leading mobile video ad network and is based in Mountain View, CA with offices in New York City, Atlanta, Chicago and Los Angeles. Rhythm monetizes premium Smartphone apps and mobile websites through a combination of our superior ad technology and growing national sales team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand new advertising medium with the leading mobile video ad network. Rhythm’s rapidly growing network averages 500 million monthly video enabled impressions from top broadcast TV networks, 10 of top 25 cable networks, the largest news agency and leading entertainment news, games, sports, breaking news, lifestyle, music sites and more.
As millions launch their favorite Smartphone applications daily, Smartphone’s are evolving into powerful “always on” personal computers. They are starting to displace other media types including TV, Radio, Print and even Online. Further, the medium has the ability to eclipse TV advertising and consistently makes front page headlines in the WSJ, AdAge and the Financial Times. Andrew Robertson, CEO of Omnicom’s BDDO (the world’s third largest advertising agency) stated that “mobile phones will replace TV advertising as the most important medium.” Rhythm is leading the charge and now serving more video than many premier online properties.
The sales manager will be responsible for selling targeted advertising on premier Smartphone applications across leading iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Android devices and the mobile web. He/She will demonstrate to clients a brand new advertising opportunity at the forefront of digital advertising technology. Advertising packages will enable brands to reach a massive target audience adding reach to their existing TV/Online campaigns.
Experience/Qualifications:
Must Have
- Sold advertising at a senior level in interactive/video medium in the Midwest region with a proven track record of success.
- Impeccable references from prior sales positions held.
- Can demonstrate an extensive personal interactive agency/client rolodex of significant ad accounts where he/she can immediately start selling Rhythm’s inventory.
- Can demonstrate a personal rolodex at the top traditional TV media/buying agencies in the Midwest, where he/she can demonstrate the “three screen” approach.
- Experience developing strong relationships at all corporate levels from agency decision maker to client CMO
- Experience in interactive with a focus on traditional TV and digital video ad sales.
- Chicago focus but territory will include Midwest region.
- Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred
- Mobile sales experience
- Has been in a startup or fast growing business before
- Professional sales training at a major player
- Has the ability to bring in additional star performer sales people, through his/her personal network
- Business development skills to evolve the pitch, look for new opportunities and try new ideas
- Experience selling to brand advertisers (especially entertainment, auto, CPG, technology, youth and affluent brands)
Personal Attributes:
- Strong believer in the growth and opportunity offered by video, mobile and interactive
- High energy, able and willing to work long hours, is ready for the demands of a high energy start up

PACKAGE
Compensation is competitive, commensurate with experience and includes basic salary, uncapped commission and stock options.
